Thanks for the post. Would definitely agree with negligence of clan. Social part of the game is non existent now. I really hope this changes in 2025.

Would love a significant change to clans and clan wars, making them a core part of the game again.
Also really curious how clash mini implementation is done.

Recently I’ve seen some posts of clash of clans ui and how the game feels so fresh with new base ui. I feel that can be done here as well. The game need new scenic ui and new card skins.

Honestly I just want the game to be fun again and hope more and more people can enjoy again.

I like the fact that you are taking feedback from the community.

The main issue according to me is the method in which Supercell releases cards as way too strong, getting people to pay to get it and then nerfing it. This can be seen in things like duchess, goblin machine. The idea of emergency buffing a card the way it was done with Rune Giant should not be a thing.
Cards should be released as relatively weak the way berserker is now. And then gradually with balance changes they will find their way in decks. They should never be released as too strong. Release as weak and then buff if required.

Another important change that is required is balance changes should be done every month. This will allow decks and the meta to frequently change and make the game more enjoyable.

These are key changes I hope to see

We need big changes in clan wars. It’s boring and complicated to take 50 players to war every week. It’s boring, the rewards should be in proportion to the fights won.
We should be able to put the clan on a war break when we need to and without losing our trophies!
We should also stop cheating in clan wars (smoothing) and have more balanced fights.

I have played Clash Royale since release and would describe myself as knowledgeable player about the game, finishing peak top 5k and top 1k in global tournament. (Not to flex, just think it’s important for you to know I kind of get the game)

The biggest problem for me is the impression (although I think it’s more than only that) that the skill needed to succeed is highly lowered.
Too many cards are simply too strong. I can see two main reasons.

  1. Evolution: It may be pointless to explain my reasoning as it‘s tough to imagine how to fix it, but I‘ll try nonetheless. Evolutions are inherently unhealthy. Too many games are decided out of the consequence of the strength of an evolution, or at least heavily influenced by it. Not by the skill of the player using it. A Megaknight should NEVER be able to flawlessly defend a whole golem, a dartgoblin should NEVER be able to kill a whole lavapush in 10sec and an e-drag should NEVER be able to stop whole recruits+piggies push on their own. Those are simply examples that make evolutions absurd strength clear, but they are also broken in other seemingly less absurd ways on a more subtle level of interactions.
    It is a necessary conclusion that cards which‘s whole point is simply being OP (op meaning the cost does not correspond to the value) are taking massive skill out of the game, as the sections of attacking or defending without evos are less significant.
  2. Clearly the whole cash grab strategy with releasing new OP cards or evolutions (even worse) to then nerf them dead after most money reached SuperCell‘s bank account is very short sighted. It‘s not fun, it‘s not fair.

So what is taking most of the fun out of the game at least to me is the brainlessness. You attack with Evogoblingiant + EvoPEKKA, not because they are harmonious, but because the cards are inherently broken. You don’t use your brain figuring out which 5 elex. card ist most useful in your deck, you simply take Frankengoblin because it‘s broken.
It feels to me that nowadays cards „power level“ are the most deciding factor in most games, whereas once skill used to be.

In my opinion, the poll is missing some options. But I’ll get to that later.

I’ve been playing CR casually since 2017 (with gaps) and am around 7500 trophies.

Personally, I don’t mind that CR is pay2win.
It is a free mobile game, it has to be monetised some way. This obviously gives an unfair advantage to paying players.
I would prefer for Supercell to encourage spending on cosmetic options (banners, cards [what happened to star levels??], emotes etc.) instead of affecting the gameplay like they do. I enjoy cosmetic options, and would also for example enjoy alternative artwork (for purchase), as found in many trading card games.

I don’t need to play every card upon release, I have fun regardless. New cards are fun but are not my main motivation to play the game.
However, I take great issue with the release of OP cards like Goblinstein, that I cannot level up enough to use them without spending money.
To some extent, I like being challenged in my way of playing. This has its limits and I don’t like the feeling of being forced to contend with cards that I cannot afford.
Or perhaps this feeling has a different cause, I don’t know.

I believe this is shared by a lot of the playerbase, either way it is somewhat represented in the poll.

We all hate that only the deck selected in Trophy Road mode is used for e. g. the Event Tab. That’s just confusing and annoying. It could be so easily fixed.

But I want to talk about the way monetisation obstructs the user interface and user experience. Have you ever shown someone the CR home screen? It is so cluttered! And somehow, UI/UX wasn’t even an option in the poll. The home screen blooms with offers in bubbles (so many bubbles), everything glows and tries to grab my attention. To access the shop, I need to scroll down forever. Why so many offers? Please, Supercell, tone it down.

This is already a long post and I won’t talk about the economy and terrible gem conversion rates here. Please share your thoughts on this, I think this is missed by the Supercell team - it for sure wasn’t in the poll.

AS LONG AS THE GAME IS FUN, I WILL KEEP PLAYING IT. Everything else is quality of life. New game modes, cars and cosmetics are cool and renew engagement and streamlining the design as well as decreasing the intensity of shop offer ads would be great. We all want a great game and a great community. For all.

This is so bad adding evolutions to few cards and other cards waiting for months feels very balanced right ? no matter how hard they try i will never pay money on this game

development team searching for new ways to fool us for money because noones gona pay more now lol

@Moly_Cow press the shop tab a second time to skip all the paying offers and access the daily shop. A third time and you reach the emotes section. Helps a lot :wink:

Delete Tower troops and Evolutions and turn them into skins for players that unlocked them. Reuse the assets for future cards too

The main issue is that new cards and Evolutions (specially Evolutions) are insanely overpowered upon release and the game almost always feels P2W.

Besides the fact that Evolutions have significantly lowered the skill required for playing competitively , some evolution concepts are simply unhealthy for the game (like E-drag chain attack and lumberjack having infinite HP).
Moreover , Almost all of the Evolutions are so strong compared to their regular form that succeeding in top ladder with using only 1 Evolution instead of 2 Evolutions in your deck is impossible , not to mention that players are way less reliable on using spells in their deck due to Evolutions which has lead into some of the weirdest and unhealthiest metas I’ve ever seen. For example many bait decks right now only contain 1 spell or don’t include an spell at all !

Other main issues are the clan wars’ system and game’s economy. What i mean is that some concepts like attacking your opponent’s boat in clan wars is completely useless and besides that the clan wars prize is so bad that it almost seems like it’s not worth it at the first place.

Besides all of that , it’s so hard to obtain wild cards unless you already have so many level 14 cards which is absurd and the game doesn’t reward F2P players with wild cards no matter how long they play and realistically it takes so much time to max out a deck if you’re a F2P player.
