Buff/rework suggestions

All of the balance changes for at least the past year have just been adding broken heroes/evos every month and nerfing everything that’s in the meta at the end of the month. The game has become very stale because of this and it’s just not fun to play when everything is getting a nerf. Here are some suggestions I have for buffs/reworks that would make the meta more interesting:

  1. Bomb Tower Buff - Damage buff of 1% (222 –> 225), Death Damage Buff of 52% (222 –> 337), bomb activates faster
    The bomb tower has been a weak building compared to the tesla and cannon due to its low damage output and awkward placement. For some reason, its damage is 3 points lower than the bomber; it should be the same damage at 225, which would very slightly buff the bomb tower. Particularly, though, the death bomb mechanic is often more disadvantageous than helpful because it blocks troop/building placement. By making it activate faster, this problem would not be as significant, and a significant buff to the death damage would improve this feature and potentially make the bomb tower better in the meta.

  2. Ice Wizard Buff - Damage and Spawn Damage Buff of 10% (89 –> 98; 81 –> 89)
    After the Tornado nerf and slowdown nerf to the ice wizard, this card has been too weak. The Ice Wizard has very low damage output and its slowdown is no longer very effective. This buff would make it more usable by ensuring an underleveled ice wizard can still kill skeletons, which would greatly improve it on ladder, and the extra damage would help it have more of a place in the meta.

  3. Three Musketeers Buff - Hitspeed buff of -8% (1.3s –> 1.2s)
    The 3m rework was quite successful and allowed the three musketeers to be good in the meta. However, they were nerfed 2 months afterwards even though they weren’t op, effectively killing the card. Reverting this nerf would make it viable again but not broken, allowing them to have a place in the meta.

  4. Spear Goblins Buff - First Hit Speed buff of -20% (0.5 –> 0.4)
    The double nerf to the spear goblins a while back completely killed the card. It no longer produced good chip damage on the tower and it had a decreased range. Also, the goblin hut and gang have been very weak due to all the nerfs they received. This first hit speed buff will make the spear goblins more effective and give them a place in the meta.

  5. Princess Rework - Tower Damage Nerf of 15% (168 –> 143), Troop Damage Buff of 26% (168 –> 212)
    The princess is a somewhat unbalanced card. It is quite annoying in bait decks as it gets chip damage that can only stopped by predictions, but its versatility is highly limited as it does not have good damage output to justify use in non-bait decks. By reworking it to deal more damage to troops and less damage to towers, it would become less powerful in bait decks but more versatile in terms of functionality.

  6. Bomber Buff - HP buff of 9% (304 –> 330)
    The Bomber was nerfed a while back so that the evo cannon and vines continued to kill it, but this isn’t a problem as evo cannon has been nerfed again to not kill >300 HP units anyways. Previously, its health was equal to that of the wall breakers. It was good in the meta but not op. The nerf caused the bomber to be too weak, and the evo bomber became even more dead than it already was. By reverting this nerf, the bomber would become good again in the meta.

These buffs/reworks would make deserving troops viable again without causing a toxic meta. The devs keep nerfing top cards because most of the cards in the game are bad and the ones that aren’t end up dominating the meta. These changes would introduce more diversity in the meta as opposed to a nerf cycle.
