Will they give us lost cards back like they did 4 years ago?

Idk if you guys remember but when they last changed progression (like 4 years ago when level 14 was added) they gave us cards to make up for the reduced progression costs. For every card that was already upgraded to a certain level, you received the difference so that you still had the same total number of cards before and after. I spent a bunch of money buying cards to get them to level 14/15 and lost like half of the cards that I bought with this update bc they didnt redistribute anything. Genuinely an absurd amount of money… I’ve only seen a few ppl talk about this but I think it’s a way bigger deal than the books or level 16. I saw the math (it’s kind of hard to look at tbh) & for a full maxxed account they directly lost 266,735 gems just in cards. That’s $1900 worth of gems if you buy them in $100 increments. And that’s not even factoring in the extra gold spent or the EWCs that were used up already. So my question: Do you think they’re just waiting a while to give us the cards back or that there was an oversight? Why would they do it then but not now? Also is there a way to see on RoyaleAPI the number of cards I had before the update?

No, there won’t be compensation. And no, we don’t have a way to see previous states of your account, only the current one.

Did they say that explicitly? Havent been able to find supercell mention it directly on anything. Why would they redistribute the cards last time they did this but aren’t going to this time? Makes me so sad to think… like 1/5th of the time and money I spent to get cards just got stolen. I feel like if enough people say something it will be fine

Not sure, probably because they got more concerned by the public perception than the effect and purpose of their changes.

The alternative would probably be to boost new-player progress by a lot, also devaluating your past progress. The appearance would be different, but the actual result would be very similar, so that’s mainly why I don’t see a point in being too resentful. It does suck for those of us who had relevant progress, but the alternative is to make the game inaccesible to new players, and that also sucks.
