Evolution since its introduction has affected the game in many undesirable ways. The whole point of the meta now is to get into some unstoppable Evo, generate so much value, and the opponent can’t do anything about it. There is not a lot of interesting maneuvering in a match; people behave in a very predictable way,slowly passively cycle their card and get into some broken combo. How many time you know the drill and Evo Snowball is coming in but you can’t do anything about it. The same situation happen when you’re facing a beatdown; the opponent get into the exodia EV goblin giant +pekka combo and you just instantly lose the game for no reason. The only different between cycle deck and beatdown now is that when a cycle player attacks with their evo; there is nothing you could do about it but at least they just humbly chip away a little bit of your tower. However when those dang beatdown player strike with their evo, those nuts are greedy as **** and take your whole tower away and also nothing you could do. Because of that reason, those broken cycle combos are more tolerable than their beatdown counterparts;both are just doing the same trick but beatdown are the ones who get the most blame. Now the balance change guy is trying to do his magic trick; he does his best to make those broken beatdown Evo combos do as little damage as those cycle Evo combos. It like trying to turn the chicken into a duck; the entire point of a beatdown is trying to take the whole tower of the opponent, and when it is not, it just does not function anymore. The evo meta is the toxic meta because of its unstoppable nature; it creates a sense of helplessness for players.Cycle player complain about their instant loss with evo goblin giant and beatdown player complain about their whole push getting solo kill by the evo valkyrie; no one is satisfied. Many average cards are now getting nerfed to take up the burden of the broken evo; the goblin drill just got nerfed thanks to the introduction of evo snowball. Goblin giant sparky have been a stable deck for years until the EVO Pekka+goblin giant combo appeared. In the end, I really hope Supercell changes every cycle of evolution into 3 to limit the undesirable impact of this phenomenon.
