Extending the trophy road again means it will reset the players to 10k again or the earned trophies will remain (for example if I have 11,500 trophies will it revert me to 10k or will I stąd at 11,5k)?
Yes, but I’d say that’s normal across progression based games. As time goes by, new progression is added and general progression speeds up. If this wasn’t the case, new players would be at such a big disadvantage that it wouldn’t be appealing to join, and the game would die as old players churn.
I would almost guarantee that this will keep happening in the future. Is it unfair if we all know it will happen and play anyways? Debatable
We don’t have details of how the transition will happen, but I’d presume that current progress in Seasonal Arenas will be removed and everyone goes back to 10K.
So, basically…
Common cards: If Level 12+ → Wait fo the update to upgrade them.
Rare cards: If Level 10+ → Wait fo the update to upgrade them.
Epic cards: If Level 10+ → Wait fo the update to upgrade them (unless they’re lvl 11 cause specifically upgrading to 12 will have no change).
So there is absolutely no explanation on how much gems you get for your elite wildcards?
What will five-star lucky chests contain after the update? They used to be the best rewards considering you could get a book, ewc or a evolution. But now are they just gonna replace the books and ewc’s with wildcards and make them like any other chest? that completely ruins the hype of getting one ngl
I have the epic book of cards, and if I use it on my level thirteen epic card, I get 200 of that card, right? So I’m level 14 and only get 130 epic wild cards. Isn’t it better to use my book now instead of getting it converted?
Yes, in that case it’s probably better, supposing you don’t prefer the Wild Cards for other upgrades.
Just don’t actually complete the upgrade yet; convert to epic cards and save the converted cards until after the update.
Thank you for your help!
In general, I like everything, but I would like to know what characteristics level 16 cards will have. No matter how much I searched, nothing is written on the sites, if I understand correctly, the level 16 princess tower will have ≈ 4816 hp and 172 damage per attack (≈ 210 damage per second)
Overall, I do really think that is update is overall a big positive, and of course reddit royale is freaking out. The only thing that kind of annoys me is that my lv 15 cards will not Overflow and be converted. I am not maxed and spending ewc in these years has basically been a huge waste. I have basically lost 788k commons, 158k rares, 39,5k epics, 520 legendaries, 197 champions or any possible combination. In this new system I think it is enough cards to max an account. Now I don’t think a full compensation would be in order, but they should at the very least make lv 15 cards fully maxed out, due to the insane setback of progress removing ewc would cause
Not complaining because I like the grind part and it’s much better now than EWC. But when we had level 14, there was a compensation of card as resource, level 13 → level 14 legendaries were 20 cards but if you are maxed you already receive like 14 cards. Something that didn’t happen in level 15 because it was completely a new currency.
Levels always increase stats by 10%, although there are some rounding adjustments. We expect the new level to follow this system.
Yeah, my impression is that back then they were forced to compromise in order to make the new level more palatable.
Giving back these spent resources makes sense to some degree, but also shortens the lifespan of level 16 by a lot. Many players would instantly max out again for free, defeating the core purpose.
So the one that loses the most is actually players with main cards on level 14, not 15? Imagine already level up to 14 with 100k gold and for level 15 you still have to pay 90k gold. The players that currently have maxed out cards at least get to level 15 without paying gold. I know that EWC is harder to get than gold, but at least you get it from trophy road or ranked as rewards.
- I disagree with the overall general statement that level 16 upgrade will be easier for non-maxed player. This statement doesn’t take into account the fact that BOOKS are REMOVED from the game. Good luck to acquire the necessary amount of legendary or champions cards w/o books. Naturally, SC being SC, they don’t communicate the most important information, i.e. how the new economy will work (distribution / cost of cards, …). So we are lacking information and we can’t say it will be easier. Thinking it will be easier is just putting your trust in the most untrustworthy company.
- If you had a full level-14 account, you could do FIVE level-15 upgrades every season (I got 62 EWC over one year on one account, and 52 on my second account). So the difficulty is not 14→15 upgrade, but how do you up your cards to level 14. On my third account, f2p, that I played for say 2 to 3 years, I have 68 level 14 cards. On this account, I can make 2 to 3 level 15 every season. This was possible thanks to books but also requesting cards in clan, and the overall accumulation of cards over that period.
- The statement “people losing retention after maxing deck” is very dubious to me. Quantitative analysis is worthless without appropriate qualitative analysis. Correlation is not causation. My take on the loss of retention is rather than players are not well guided and are maxing bad decks which are locking them and preventing all progression higher up. They likely thought initially that their bad win-rate was due to not having a maxed deck, to discover finally that even with a maxed deck it was not enough. They likely lost motivation then.
- The supportive players (those who pay) and maxed out players are losing considerable value. Basically Super Cell is literally sh!tting on the players that supported the game financially, by pushing another upgrade w/o any compensation. All the explanations and justifications are plain hypocrisy to hide the fact that they just want to turn supportive players into cash cows (it’s been like these for years).
- The upgrade doesn’t address the main issues in the game right now. All the unfixed bugs that keep popping up every month. The broken evolutions that make the game unbalanced continuously, every season. The removal of the tournaments.
- The upgrade announcement misses critical information. How will XP be distributed when upgrading a card level 15 or 16? At which king level will the level 16 be available? What is the conversion rate of the EWC? Should people upgrade now their cards or wait? If they had a ounce of common sense, SC would know players would have these questions.
- The upgrade doesn’t bring anything new except a magical supposedly super-duper mode. Sorry Super Cell but we don’t buy this… anymore.
I saw a information that star levels will be deleted, is it confirmed ?
Those card cost graphs are misleading. In no world EWC should be compared to normal cards. First of all elite wild cards are universal which means you could choose which card to use them on. Normal cards are random to aquire so it will be way harder to max out specific cards. Also we can’t forget that earning EWC scales with the number of your lvl 14 cards, so if you had a lot of cards at lvl 14, gaining EWC was way quicker than normal cards. In conclusion those graphs don’t accurately reflect how hard it will be to max cards now and considering that books are going to be removed, upgrading specific cards is going to be even harder and even more random than it already was. Thanks Supercell!
When they released level 15, I think they compensated maxed players like if after update a card takes 100 cards to reach level 15 and before update 150 cards then after update that player will have 50 cards extra with level 15.
Fully agree, and wanted to point the same thing.
The graphs may lead to the premature conclusion that it would be easier to reach level 16 after the update than is was to reach level 15 before the update.
First of all, let’s be honest, Super Cell nerfed level 15 progression in the various last updates, by reducing the amount you get in leagues, by removing the level caps, etc. Soon after level 15 was introduced, it was somewhat easy to collect at least 80k EWC from league or shop (at least if you were say level 13 or 14). Now after nerfing level 15 progression, they want to claim that level 16 will be easier and smoother? They are drinking their own lies.
Second, as @Duckmylife explained, the economy of EWC is different from those of collecting cards. You cannot compare the effort of collecting 50k EWC that you’d put on one champion to the one of collecting 12.5 cards of such champion. Especially since we have no information on the new economy, card distribution, and also because books are removed.
I really doubt it will be easier to collect 11+15 = 26 champions (the new cost to reach max level from level 14 after the update) than it was to collect 50k EWC (the same cost but before the update).
