Thank you for reintroducing yourself. I’m sorry that the community has been really toxic towards you because of thinking that you’re Supercell.

Finally, someone smart to silence the idiots on Reddit

On 3 accounts: 2 giants and 1 knight. Knight is versatile, giant works in specific decks. If you don’t use giant in you deck and you got it, that’s the problem, especially for f2p players.

I have a question here: you said that 55% had “at least” one hero

Honestly I don’t think you should count the ones who have more than one, because that 99% means they bought the other and got the one of their choice

I mean if hero buyers where less than 10% giant, and you count people who bought heroes into the randomness statistic to get that the chances are almost equal, doesn’t that imply that the chance of getting giant from a chest is indeed higher? And people buying heroes was the factor that balanced the odds

The negativity bias, also known as the negativity effect, is a cognitive bias that […] things of a more negative nature (e.g., unpleasant thoughts, emotions, social interactions, harmful/traumatic events) have a greater effect on a person’s psychological state and processes than neutral or positive thing. :index_pointing_up:

Of course, the drop chance of a hero is 33.3%/33.3%/33.4% (or something very close to that), it is just that people who complain about getting the least versatile hero get more upvotes/likes than people cheering that they got one of the other two heroes. Thus, the bias towards the negative experiences. That is also how 80% of all algorithms work, btw.

TL;DR: They should have gave the player base the option to choose which card they wanted, but that is less engaging and they can’t/wouldn’t do things that simple.

Also Hero Giant is not in the “Win Con” tab of the /cards yet. :person_walking:

the first hero event isn’t random it’s your choice other than that yeah it’s random

also the rng will increase as more heroes get added just like what happened with evos

Damn, never thought you guys would actually make a post about the topic I raised! Thanks so much! I thought this would be the result—it’d be very surprising if they did indeed bias the drop rate. But still, good to have some actual empirical confirmation. Keep up the good work guys!
